![]() Sometimes they’re good, sometimes they’re bad. These new mushy crater playfields have been happening since around X-Men. They were like slick glass.zero dimples, even if you looked hard. The best Stern PFs I ever saw were my WOF & BDK. All playfields dimple, but the well made older playfields you really has to specifically look at the right angle in the right light to see it. Something is definitely different about Stern playfields in the Spike 2 era. ![]() It has dimpling, but you have to down real close and look from an angle. And my XMEN LE playfield, which I have no idea how many total plays are on it, looks practically new. My brother’s new GoTG already has the gash dimples recent Stern’s are know for, and lots of dimples in general. New Sterns dimple wayyyyy more violently - more and deeper craters - than new CGC games AND older Stern games. Hopefully some code revisions will fix the unbalanced scoring issue and add actual callouts. ![]() I really wanted to dig on this title, especially with the theme and all. I will say this, the video clips, other than the cheesy demogorgan coming through the wallpaper, are pretty cool and well done. Ball doesn't seem to exit from the right orbit very smoothly the majority of the time. Playfield looks like garbage! Dozens upon dozens of what appear to be bubbles or pit marks, clearly some really poor clearcoat, see the photos below. Current code is Alpha at best, the few callouts there are are not balanced with the music (Ball save callout is super loud compared to music that can barely be heard). I had to have made 3 dozen attempts and didn't sink it once. Like y'all have been discussing, it may be a setup issue.but I found the demogorgan shot impossible, so did my wife, and so did the other few people we watched play. High risk targets are worthless as far as points go, just stick to the ramps. The wizard modes are “very deep” into it, and there are lots of goals along the way.Got to play the Pro version on site yesterday, here are my first impressions after several plays: There are over 40 modes – close to 50 – as they are trying to keep it interesting for a long time for those that purchase for their home. They have not finalized how many MB will be in the game, at least 5, maybe 6. The other main difference is the Demogorgon shakes and animates on the Premium/LE. You can do two balls, then three balls, then start telekinesis multiball. It simulates Eleven’s telekinesis powers. On the Premium/LE, there is a telekinesis ball lock – there is a shot up the left ramp that when you shoot it, the ball will stick to the back panel as a ball lock. It sounds like the differences won’t be immediately noticeable between the Pro and the Premium/LE. ![]() Premium/LE DifferencesĮDIT: We are hearing that the movie projector feature will only be on the PREMIUM/LE, not on the PRO version When the game is not on, these surfaces for the screens will be white. ![]() The projector also projects onto other surfaces in the game including ramps and drop targets and stand up targets. There is a screen on the front of Hawkins lab that opens up as a movie screen. Movie projector on Premium/LE: a first in pinball, a movie projector under the bottom art (apron it sounds like!) – you can’t see it but it is projecting out onto the playfield. It’s a hurry up mode and you have to do something immediately to get out of the upside down then you get back to the real world. The Upside Down: The Upside Down is randomized and turns off and on, it happens at random points in the game, it could happen at any time. There are three places the ball can be held in a scoop/saucer, including one up the center to the Demogorgon/under the Demogorgon. You are trying to destroy Demogorgon at the center, and you need to get the ball in the Demogorgon’s mouth to destroy him. The main toy is up the middle – a Demogorgon toy behind a wall with drop targets, which is Hawkins Lab – it is the entrance into the Upside Down. Sounds like soon and I can’t wait.įan layout to feel like Attack from Mars and Medieval Madness – looks like a flowy Brian Eddy game. The Pro is supposed to be streamed first. It sounds like movie clips will be shown/played on areas of the playfield (more on that below), so whatever that means asset-wise sounds promising, and Wynona Ryder is on the machine. We have some great info on the upcoming Stranger Things pinball machine from Stern!įirst a few things I don’t have much info on: Artwork ![]()
